Frequent Questions about Cottage Ownership

What does the term “seasonal” actually mean?

Seasonal means that in keeping with a true cottage community, you may use your cottage from mid-April through mid-October. Off season, all water is turned off and the cottages are “closed for the season”. With winter security and management staff, the Village is well taken care of!

Do you allow pets?

From childhood through the empty nest years, nothing beats the companionship of a dog. At Summer Village we understand the special bond between people and their pets. That’s why we created a special enclosed park for you and your dog to romp, exercise, and meet the neighboring dogs. You’ll find your dog will love swimming in the cool, spring-fed pond, just around the bend from the sandy beach. There’s even a shady grove area with picnic tables, so dog owners can relax while the animals play. The park is safely fenced so your biggest worry will be getting your dog to leave the pet playground when it’s time to go home. (Indoor pets such as cats are allowed too!)

How are the cottages built with long term maintenance in mind?

Utilizing some of the best building materials in the industry, all cottages at Summer Village are low maintenance! From Hardiplank siding and Procell Decking entries, to Andersen windows and 30 year Owens Corning architectural shingles, these cottages are built to stand the test of time.

Boating at Summer Village …

With so much to do at Summer Village, boating is still one of the best ways to relax. Part of what makes Long-Sought-for Pond such a beautiful place is the serenity. With this in mind, we feature “passive” boating only – no motor boats. This means sailboats, kayaks, paddle boats and canoes (with an electric troller for fishing if so desired) are all welcome! Or … use one of the Village owned boats. We have kayaks, canoes and Sunfish sailboats available.
