MA Info, Westford

Westford, MA Road SignThere is so much to do right at Summer Village at the Pond that you may want to just stay put. We’re all for that, but if you do want to wander, Westford has a lot to offer. Here are five of our favorite things to do in Westford:

1. Kimball Farm — Kimball’s is Westford’s #1 attraction on It is a favorite for its hotdogs, hamburgers, lobster rolls; oversized servings of homemade ice cream; miniature golf, driving range, bumper boats and a lot more.

2. Westford Farmer’s Market — This weekly event on the Westford Common features local produce and flowers, specialty foods, live music and a great sense of community. The 2014 season starts on Tuesday, June 17.

3. The Butterfly Place — Stroll through an indoor garden filled with hundreds upon hundreds of free-flying butterflies.

4. Bruce Freeman  Rail Trail — The old New Haven Railroad Framingham & Lowell line is in the process of being transformed into a beautiful recreation trail for biking, running and walking. Phase I, which covers 6.8 miles in Lowell, Chelmsford and Westford, is now open.

5. Nashoba Valley Winery –  We know this isn’t technically in Westford, but it is less than 20 minutes away so we wanted to include it! Nashoba Valley Winery is a stunning hilltop orchard/vineyard, winery, restaurant and brewery in Bolton, MA.  A beautiful spot to spend the day or enjoy evening drinks and dinner!

If you want to venture farther afield, Summer Village at the Pond is ideally located for a quick trip to Boston or Lowell. The beaches, lakes, mountains and historic towns of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine are also within easy reach!
